For Kids

The library may be closed, but Miss Kate is still here!

Check out our Facebook and Instagram for regular updates! And if you haven’t already, now is a great time to sign up for Miss Kate’s Updates to get a heads-up on what’s happening in the (virtual) children’s room!

MONDAYS & WEDNESDAYS: Digital storytime! Miss Kate reads two books and sings a song.
TUESDAYS: Arts & Crafts or Wacky Science! Get step-by-step instructions on crafts to make and experiments to try from home.
THURSDAYS: Check out “Miss Kate Recommends” for Miss Kate’s favorite picture books, chapter books, young adult books, and more – all available free with your library card online.
FRIDAYS: Miss Kate’s Book Talks give you a closer look at a novel for older kids or teens, including a reading from the book and the reasons Miss Kate loves it.

Don’t forget to vote in March Children’s Book Madness! (Which, yes, will extend beyond the month of March.)

For Adults

At this time, we do not anticipate reopening in April.

However, we will have some programs via livestream. Check back for updates, or sign up for the Adult Events email list to be notified.

Relax and Renew – Monday, April 6 at 7pm – Zoom away to a safe online space to escape, relax and experience some fun stress relief. Coach Jyoti will also share some easy tips that you can incorporate in your daily routine that will benefit you.

This event will be livestreamed on Zoom. You won’t need an account to participate, but if viewing from a mobile device, you’ll need to download the Zoom app.

Adult Book Club – Thursday, April 16 at 7:30pm

Fun Home by Alison Bechdel

This month’s book club selection of Fun Home by Alison Bechdel is available on hoopla. Since it’s part of hoopla’s Bonus Borrows collection, it won’t count against your monthly limit. This meeting will be livestreamed on Zoom. You won’t need an account to participate, but if viewing from a mobile device, you’ll need to download the Zoom app. To receive an invite, email julia.nock@closter.bccls.org. Out-of-towners welcome!

During this difficult time, we encourage you to:

Stay safe!
