Monetary donations and memorial funds

We of course always accept (and greatly appreciate!) unconditional monetary donations. If you would like to donate in honor of a loved one, please speak to our director to make arrangements.

Friends of the Library

The Friends of the Demarest Free Public Library is a nonprofit that raises money in support of the library’s needs and goals. Follow the link below to learn more about the Friends, making a one-time donation, and membership tiers.

Books

We always appreciate when patrons want to share their materials with the community, but unfortunately we cannot accept donations of books, audiobooks, movies, or CDs, as per our Collection Development policy. Donations left inside or outside the library will be discarded without consideration.

Better World Books

Better World Books is an online used bookstore that sells and recycles old books. Proceeds fund literacy programs worldwide. There are two Better World Books drop boxes in Cresskill: one in the Cresskill Public Library parking lot (53 Union Avenue) and one at 65 East Madison Avenue. VVA pick-up

The Vietnam Veterans of America accept donations of books. Click here or call 1-800-775-VETS to schedule a pick-up. Your donation supports US veterans and their families. The VVA will pick up your donation rain or shine and leave a tax-deductible receipt.
