Museum Pass Program

Museums have adjusted their hours and ticketing procedures as safety precautions put in place due to the COVID-19 pandemic. For the most up-to-date information, call the library at 201-768-8714 or email us at demacirc@bccls.org.

The Demarest Free Public Library offers free passes to the Children’s Museum of Manhattan, Guggenheim, Intrepid Air & Space Museum, the Museum of Modern Art, and the Storm King Art Center. Passes may be checked out to Demarest residents only, and you may only check out one at a time. Learn more below!

  • Children’s Museum of Manhattan Passes
    Children's Museum of Manhattan

    The Children's Museum of Manhattan Pass is available to borrow for Demarest residents only. It can be borrowed for 3 days. It can not be renewed or reserved. Museum passes are first-come, first-served.

    How to borrow a museum pass:
    1. Call the library when we open on the day you would like to borrow the museum pass and we will tell you if it's available. (See our hours here.)
    2. Bring your library card and photo ID to the library. We will ask you to read and sign the museum pass policy. The pass will be checked out to your card, just like a book, and you will be given a receipt with the due date.
    3. Visit the Membership Verification page on CMOM's website and enter the access code on the pass.
    4. Follow the steps to schedule your timed visit – visits must be scheduled and are limited to two-hour sessions. You'll be emailed your tickets. (Tickets don't need to be printed; the museum will accept tickets displayed on phones.)
    5. Present the museum pass and your tickets when you visit for free admission for you and your guests. (We recommend you bring your library card as well, as museums sometimes ask to see it before accepting the pass.)
    6. Return the museum pass to the Demarest Library on or before the due date to avoid late fees – you will be charged $25.00 a day if the pass is overdue! Make sure to return the case we gave you the pass in. Museum passes can be retunrned in their cases in the book drop. Do not return a museum pass to another library.
    What does the CMOM Pass get me?
    • Free admission to the museum for four people
    • Access to member-only hours from 9am to 10am on Sundays and Wednesdays
    • 15% off purchases at the CMOM store
    • Deals and discounts at local restaurants
  • Guggenheim Museum Passes
    Guggenheim Museum

    The Guggenheim Museum Pass is available to borrow for Demarest residents only. It can be borrowed for 7 days. It can not be renewed or reserved. Museum passes are first-come, first-served.

    How to borrow a museum pass:
    1. Call the library when we open on the day you would like to borrow the museum pass and we will tell you if it's available. (See our hours here.)
    2. Bring your library card and photo ID to the library. We will ask you to read and sign the museum pass policy. The pass will be checked out to your card, just like a book, and you will be given a receipt with the due date.
    3. Present the museum pass when you visit for free admission for you and your guests. (We recommend you bring your library card as well, as museums sometimes ask to see it before accepting the pass.) As you'll be using the library's member pass, you do not need to reserve timed tickets in advance.
    4. Return the museum pass to the Demarest Library on or before the due date to avoid late fees – you will be charged $25.00 a day if the pass is overdue! Make sure to return the case we gave you the pass in. Museum passes in their cases can be returned in the bookdrop. Do not return museum passes to another library.
    What does the Guggenheim Museum Pass get me?
    • Free admission to the museum for four people
    • If only two people are using the pass, you may skip the line
    • Discounted tickets for all museum programs, including artists’ talks, Works & Process, and live events
    • 10% savings at the Guggenheim Store and restaurants
    • 25% savings at the Guggenheim Store during twice yearly Members’ Shopping Weeks

  • Intrepid Air & Space Museum Pass
    Intrepid Air & Space Museum

    The Intrepid Museum Pass is available to borrow for Demarest residents only. It can be borrowed for 3 days. Museum passes are first-come, first-served.

    How to borrow a museum pass:
    1. Call the library at 201-768-8714, email us at demacirc@bccls.org, or visit the upstairs desk. (See our hours here.)
    2. If the pass is available, we will generate a URL that we can email to you or print out.
    3. Follow the URL to reserve tickets through the Demarest Library's membership. You must reserve your tickets through the URL we send you to get them for free.
    4. Present your timed tickets and Demarest Library card at the museum to be admitted. You can bring your physical library card or display the barcode in an app like meeScan.
    What does the Intrepid Museum Pass get me?
    • Free admission for six people to the Intrepid Museum, Space Shuttle Pavilion, and the submarine Growler
    • Use of the Express Members-Only line
    • 10% discount on family memberships
  • Museum of Modern Art Passes

    The MoMA Passes are available to borrow for Demarest residents only. It can be borrowed for 3 days. It can not be renewed or reserved. Museum passes are first-come, first-served.

    How to borrow a museum pass:
    1. Call the library when we open on the day you would like to borrow the museum pass and we will tell you if it's available. (See our hours here.)
    2. Bring your library card and photo ID to the library. We will ask you to read and sign the museum pass policy. The pass will be checked out to your card, just like a book, and you will be given a receipt with the due date.
    3. Present the museum pass when you visit for free admission for you and your guests. (We recommend you bring your library card as well, as museums sometimes ask to see it before accepting the pass.) Because you're using the library's pass, you do not need to reserve a timed ticket.
    4. Return the museum pass to the Demarest Library on or before the due date to avoid late fees – you will be charged $25.00 a day if the pass is overdue!     What does the MoMA Pass get me?
    • Free admission to the museum for five people – no need to buy tickets
    • Priority entrance
    • Free tickets to MoMA film screenings. Pick up same-day tickets at the lobby information desk or at the film desk (through the doors east of the main entrance on 53 Street) during screening times
    • 10% savings at the MoMA Store
    • Access to special previews of all major exhibitions four days before the exhibition opens to the public. Present your Corporate Card at the gallery entrance for admission

  • Storm King Art Center Passes

    The Storm King Art center Pass is available to borrow for Demarest residents only. It can be borrowed for 3 days. It can not be renewed or reserved. Museum passes are first-come, first-served.

    How to borrow a museum pass:
    1. Call the library when we open on the day you would like to borrow the museum pass and we will tell you if it's available. (See our hours here.) You will need the pass on the day you plan to reserve tickets, not the day you plan to visit the Storm King Art Center. Tickets can be booked up to two weeks in advance.
    2. Bring your library card and photo ID to the library. We will ask you to read and sign the museum pass policy. The pass will be checked out to your card, just like a book, and you will be given a receipt with the due date. Instructions on using the pass to reserve your tickets will be provided. Checking out the library pass does not guarantee a reservation. Download reservation instructions and ticket release dates here.
    3. Tickets cannot be reserved online with a library pass. To reserve your tickets, contact the Storm King Art Center. Have your preferred date, time, and the number of people in your party ready when you contact Storm King.

    4. Museum staff will email you a timed-entry ticket. Tickets can be printed or presented on your mobile device.
    5. Return the museum pass after booking your ticket. You do not need the museum pass to enter the Storm King Art Center; only your timed-entry ticket. Make sure to return the pass in the case we gave you. Passes in cases can be returned in the book drop. Do not return museum passes to another library.
    What does the Storm King Pass get me?
    • Free admission for two adults and up to four children under 18
    • Free admission to special events and member-only events, like Winter Walks and Member Mornings (see the calendar of events here)
