Children’s Programs

Questions? Call Miss Kate at (201) 768-8714.

Regular monthly programs:
  • Arts & Crafts are projects for younger kids to show their creativity.
  • Wacky Science is all about using our imaginations to do fun experiments and learn about scientific principles!

During the pandemic, Arts & Crafts and Wacky Science projects are designed to be done at home with common household materials. Instructions are posted on our Facebook page and Instagram.

Miss Kate assembles monthly Craft Kits with special supplies for at-home Arts & Crafts projects. Registrants receive an email when their Craft Kit is ready to pick up. Register for the December Craft Kit here.

The best way to stay up-to-date with Miss Kate’s projects is to sign up for her email list. You can do that here.

Book Clubs

The Demarest Library offers three children’s book clubs. Book clubs meet monthly to discuss a book and enjoy some games. Children must be registered to attend. When you register, a copy of the upcoming month’s book will be requested for you. You’ll receive an email when it’s ready to pick up.

During the pandemic, all book clubs are held virtually over Zoom.

Special Programs

Occasionally throughout the year we have special programs run by outside organizations. While our regular monthly programs are open to all, special programs require registration and are for Demarest residents only. To keep up-to-date on regular and special programs for kids, sign up for Miss Kate’s Updates!
