Library Closing for HVAC Upgrade

The library will be closed to the public on Thursday, November 5th and Friday, November 6th, 2020 to conduct a deep cleaning of the HVAC system and the installation of new MERV-13 filters to enhance the air quality at the library.

Our Board of Trustees contacted the EPA, ASHRAE (American Society of Heating and Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers) and the Bergen County Department of Health to research the best options for our building. This research led to a conversation with an environmental industrial hygienist from the Bergen County Department of Health who gave us the names of three environmental engineering consultants, one of whom (by chance) ended up being a town resident!

The library is very appreciative of the assistance provided by Stephen A Jaraczewski, President of Detail Associates, an environmental engineering consultancy. He offered his services gratis to the library and has helped us identify the solutions to enhance the air quality in the library and has conducted air quality testing for us as well to address any outstanding concerns.

The library plans to open as normal on Sunday, November 8 from 1pm to 5pm – with fresher air!
