The Insley St. Entrance is getting a makeover!

We have exciting news! The Demarest Public Library is starting long-outstanding construction and renovation projects in the Insley Street foyer, including the entrance to the Children’s Room. The construction will begin on Monday, July 26 and will address some safety hazards and structural updates. The project is expected to be completed in early fall.

The library, including the Children’s Room, will remain open throughout the construction, but the Children’s Room will only be accessible via the elevator through the Stelfox Street entrance. The Insley Street entrance will be closed.

The fumes and dust from the construction taking place in the Children’s Room create an environment that is potentially dangerous for some children. Therefore, the unattended children age is 14-years-old. All children 13 years-old and younger must be accompanied by an adult at all times in the library. When construction is completed, the unattended children age will be lowered to 10 years-old.
