This October the Demarest Public Library will have in its entryway and stairwell, the photographic work of Demarest resident, Sterne Slaven. The fourteen pieces range greatly in size and content, which is typical of the artist/photographer. Huge vinyl banners are visible from your car window while traveling on Hardenburgh Avenue, though we suggest parking and coming inside to better appreciate both them, and the more intimately scaled pieces – street photographs of faces, and some mostly-abstract ones of the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, taken while he was living in the town of Hoboken, and up on display now, in the month that will mark its third anniversary. The Oil and Water macro pictures are a favorite with the younger set. Who doesn’t love bubbles?
Come in and take a look!
