The Art of Self Study – Thursdays from 11am to 12pm, starting October 8 – As we gather for this autumnal four-week yoga class series, we shall be part of a Shala; a home-based yoga practice wherein we are educating, nurturing, and re-energizing ourselves. A Shala that encourages inner peace through movement, meditation and awareness. Eat lightly, wear loose fitted clothing, and please have a yoga mat or blanket.
Stress & Anxiety Management – Tuesday, October 27 at 7pm – Join Dr. Jonathan D Friedman and Licensed Clinical Social Worker Jennifer Surak from Baker Street Behavioral Health for a discussion about stress and anxiety reduction/management for parents and families duirng the COVID pandemic. Additional topics will include back to school and how parents and children can adjust.
This Interactive presentation will provide the opportunity for discussion and Q&A. Parents and guardians are encouraged to ask questions!
Spicy & Healthy Halloween – October 28 at 7pm – Flavor your Halloween with sweet & spicy treats! Catch Coach Jyoti on Zoom where she will share how to prepare healthy, flavorful delights, from her kitchen to yours. Jyoti Nebhnani trained at the world-renowned nutrition school the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and is board certified from the American Association of Drugless Practitioners.
Author Talk with Esther Wojcicki – Wednesday, October 7 at 7pm – Join us for a live author talk and Q&A! Esther Wojcicki is a leading American educator, journalist, and mother of three daughters, who have each become famously successful as the CEO of YouTube, the Founder and CEO of 23andMe, and a top medical researcher. She writes about her time-tested parenting and education strategies in her book How to Raise Successful People: Simple Lessons for Radical Results.
This even will also be streamed on Facebook Live, but if you want to be part of the conversation, register for the Zoom meeting. Space is limited!
Knitting Club – Wednesday, October 21 at 7:30pm – While the library is closed, meetings will be held via Zoom. Email demarestknitters@outlook.com to receive a link to join.
