Construction is complete and the library is now open.

Important Information for Patrons

• You can now request items to be picked up at the Demarest Library.
• The Demarest Library bookdrop is open. You can place any BCCLS returns in the bookdrop.
• Museum passes are available to be checked out.
• We have limited connectivity and printing capabilities that should be resolved soon.

Why was the library closed?

We undertook a renovation which expanded and updated the Quiet Room and created a new Community Room to increase programming space and improve patron services. This renovation is part of our Strategic Plan to optimize available space to meet the community’s evolving needs.

We are confident that this exciting project will provide an enhanced environment for our patrons and greater opportunities for our future programs and services.

What does the completed renovation look like?

Phase 1 expanded the Quiet Room to create the new Community Room which will be used for programs. Doors were added to better separate the space from the main reading room. The new Community Room is bigger and has new floors. Here’s what the Community Room looks like:

Phase 2 renovated the staff space. The circulation desk, the back work desk, and shelves around the circulation area were replaced. The staff room was also renovated.

As you can see below, our main circulation desk has been replaced. Please stop by the library and see our new improvements!
