NVD has decided not to issue reading lists this year, with the exception of advanced courses. Students can choose any grade- and school-appropriate book to read over the summer. Our Senior Youth Services Librarian, Miss Kate, has compiled the following lists of recommended titles by grade level. Click a cover to find the book in the catalog and place a request.
Freshmen
The library recommends:

Sophomores

Students taking AP Language & Composition at Northern Valley Demarest must also read Born a Crime by Trevor Noah and complete the assignment emailed to them.
Seniors

Seniors taking World Mythology & Archetypal Literature must also read Ishmael by Daniel Quinn.
Seniors taking AP English Literature & Composition must also read How to Read Literature Like a Professor by Thomas C Foster.
