The Demarest Free Public Library now offers Tonies to borrow! Tonies may be checked out to
Demarest residents only. Additionally, only two (2) Tonies may be borrowed at a time per household. Read more about our Tonies policy below.
Eligibility:
- Borrowers must be a Demarest Resident and 18 years or older.
- You’ll need a valid library card in good standing (no overdue items or excessive fines).
Checkout and Returns:
- Loan period: Tonies and Tonieboxes can be borrowed for up to 2 weeks max.
- Return Location: Tonieboxes and Tonie figures must be returned directly to library staff at the children’s desk and should not be placed in any book drops.
Limits:
- Limit of 2 Tonie characters and one Toniebox per family checked out at once.
Replacement Fees:
- You WILL be responsible for the cost of replacing lost or damaged Tonieboxes or Tonies ($140 for a Toniebox kit and $20 per Tonie character).
Usage Guidelines:
- Adult supervision is usually recommended, especially for younger children (recommended age is 3 and up).
- You are responsible for the proper care and use of the Toniebox kit and its contents.
- Please do not attempt to clean or repair the Toniebox or Tonies yourself.
- The Tonieboxes are configured to work offline, meaning you don’t need a Wi-Fi connection to use them with the library’s Tonies.
