For Ages 0-4

  • Music with Miss Nita

Music with Miss Nita offers lively classes designed for children from 0-5 years-old and their family and/or caregivers at our Train Station. Everyone is encouraged to sing, dance and play musical instruments in a joyful and relaxed community environment. Registration is required.

  • Little Wigglers Playtime

Enjoy a warm and inviting space where you and your child can play and socialize with others in the community. Please note: This is a social event for both caregiver and child, as opposed to a traditionally structured program. Ages 4 months to 3 years-old with caregiver. Registration is not required. Little Wigglers Playtime is held on Fridays from 10:30am to 11:15am.

Kids

  • Arts & Crafting at the Library (STEAM)

We offer after school Arts & Crafting projects throughout each month for students ages 4+ to come and experience. The projects are usually seasonally inspired and are STEAM focused. We use multiple mediums to encourage young patrons to explore and be creative. Registration is not required.

  • Read to a Dog

Practice reading one-on-one with an adorable and loving therapy dog! Our volunteer trainer and her therapy dogs are top notch at providing a welcoming and nurturing environment to work on reading and social skills for emerging readers of all ages. Children may register for one ten-minute session each visit.

  • Take-Home DIY Craft Kits

Monthly take home DIY craft kits are available for pick up at the main circulation desk for children. The kits are easy to do and require just a few household tools such as glue, and a maker or crayons. The kits usually highlight an upcoming holiday, season or event. Available while supplies last.

Teens

  • Teen Programs

We offer several functions throughout the year that are geared specifically to the active teen community. Events like social nights, movie nights, trivia events, and gaming sessions are just a few.

  • Teen Volunteers

The Children’s Department is not looking for any volunteering during the 2025-2026 school year, as we already have our Teen Advisory Board.

If you are interested in volunteering in the Adult Services Department, you can email demacirc@bccls.org!
